Ghanaians have been urged to come together once again in prayer, thanksgiving, and national reflection as preparations begin for the second edition of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving.

Speaking at the media launch of the event, Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, described the occasion as an opportunity for citizens to unite in seeking divine wisdom and guidance for the nation’s development.

The event, which is being held on the theme, “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want,” aims to bring people of different faiths together to reflect on the country’s progress, give thanks to God, and pray for a better future.

According to Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah, Ghana’s development agenda requires not only sound policies and leadership but also spiritual guidance and a collective commitment to national values.

“This is another time for us as a nation to unite in prayer. Despite our differences, we all share a common goal of building a prosperous and peaceful Ghana under God’s guidance,” he stated.

He emphasized that faith continues to play a significant role in Ghana’s national life and remains a vital force in promoting peace, unity, and social cohesion.

The Presidential Envoy noted that the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving provides an opportunity for Ghanaians to reflect on the nation’s journey, express gratitude for God’s blessings, and seek divine direction for the challenges ahead.

He further stressed that Ghana’s religious and cultural diversity should not be viewed as a source of division but rather as one of the country’s greatest strengths.

“Our diversity is not our weakness; it is our strength. It is what makes us unique as a nation and provides us with an opportunity to demonstrate unity in diversity,” he said.

Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah called on religious leaders, traditional authorities, civil society organizations, and citizens from all walks of life to actively participate in the event and contribute to the national conversation on values, patriotism, and development.

The National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving is expected to bring together Christians, Muslims, traditional leaders, government officials, and other stakeholders in a collective effort to seek God’s blessings and guidance for Ghana.

Organizers believe the event will strengthen national unity and inspire citizens to embrace the values necessary to build the Ghana envisioned by all.

As the country prepares for the second edition of the observance, the call remains clear: a united people, guided by faith, gratitude, and shared values, can help shape a stronger and more prosperous Ghana for future generations.
