The Chief Executive Officer of then Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), Margaret Ansei, has engaged officials in the United States to explore new international market opportunities for Ghanaian small businesses.
The engagement took place during the 2026 Business Forum in Cincinnati, where she led a delegation from the agency to the Office of the Mayor in Columbus. The delegation included the Chief Executive Officer of African American Business Promotion, Manny Addo.

During the visit, the team held discussions with the Director of International Affairs and Regional Partnerships, Mike Schadek, and the Assistant Director of Community Relations, Alfred A. Akainyah.
The talks focused on exploring practical avenues of collaboration to expand access to global markets for Ghana’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Key areas of discussion included creating market linkages, fostering strategic partnerships, and attracting investment opportunities that would enable Ghanaian businesses to scale and compete internationally.

According to the GEA CEO, strengthening international partnerships remains a priority for the agency as it seeks to empower entrepreneurs and deepen trade connections beyond Ghana’s borders.
She noted that creating sustainable pathways for MSMEs to access global markets is central to Ghana’s economic transformation and will play a critical role in unlocking the growth potential of local businesses.
The GEA delegation included Director for MSMEs, Hajia Habiba Sumani; Partnership Coordinator, Mary Asswegnlaa Nkrumah Inusah; and Access to Market Coordinator, Madam Abena Nursaa Yiadom.
