Hon. Alhaji Kwadwo Mahama Adams was a respected figure in Ghanaian politics. As a former Member of Parliament for Techiman South and a long-time National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart, he was known for his quiet dedication to public service and his belief that political leadership should focus on people’s everyday lives rather than personal acclaim.

His career spanned roles as MP and party leader, and he was widely regarded as a stabilising voice within the NDC in the Brong Ahafo region. That legacy was abruptly cut short on September 7, 2002, when he died in a motor accident near Suhum while returning to Sunyani from Accra. His passing was a profound loss for his family, his community, and his party.

More than two decades later, his memory still resonates with colleagues and supporters who remember him as a man who led with principle and empathy. Recently, one such tribute came from Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, a senior NDC figure, who chose a deeply personal way to honour the late MP’s family.

After Adams’s passing, Gyamfi sent a sum of money to the former MP’s wife, Augustina Amoako Adom, through Micky Charles in Sunyani. It was a gesture made quietly but with intention, meant to show that the bond of party and personal respect endured beyond office and beyond time.

When Madam Augustina received the support, she expressed her gratitude thanking the NDC fraternity and specifically acknowledged Sammy Gyamfi for the support at a difficult time. She spoke about how meaningful it was to know her late husband was still remembered and valued by his party family. Her appreciation underscored how such gestures can bring comfort when words alone are not enough.

In a political landscape often defined by competition and headlines, this moment stood out for its simplicity and sincerity. It reminded many that the ties formed in public life extend into personal spaces and that remembrance can take many forms. For the family of Hon. Alhaji Kwadwo Mahama Adams, this gesture was more than financial support. It was a reminder that his service and commitment had not been forgotten.
