The Jospong Group of Companies has donated US$50,000 to the Government of Ghana to support the country’s preparations and activities ahead of the 31st United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31), scheduled to take place in Türkiye in November 2026.
The donation is part of the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and its support for national and global efforts to address climate change.
Presenting the cheque to the Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) on Friday, October 30, 2026, the Group’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Sophia Kudjordji, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting government initiatives, particularly those focused on environmental protection and climate action.
She described it as a privilege for the Jospong Group to contribute to national initiatives and said the company considered its support for COP31 an important step towards strengthening Ghana’s participation in global climate discussions.

Madam Kudjordji also underscored the need for stronger collaboration between government and the private sector to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the government, the EPA Chief Executive Officer, Professor Browne Klutze, expressed appreciation to the Jospong Group for the financial support.
She commended the company for its commitment to environmental sustainability, describing the contribution as significant to Ghana’s preparations for the global climate conference.
Professor Klutze disclosed that the EPA had engaged several private-sector organisations to mobilise financial support for Ghana’s participation in COP31.
She said some of the companies approached had responded positively, demonstrating the importance of private-sector involvement in advancing the country’s climate and environmental priorities.
The donation highlights the role of public-private partnerships in mobilising resources for climate action and ensuring Ghana’s effective participation in international environmental negotiations.
COP31 is expected to bring together world leaders, policymakers, climate scientists, environmental experts and other stakeholders to discuss global climate challenges and advance measures to accelerate climate action.
The conference will also provide Ghana with an opportunity to showcase its climate priorities, strengthen international partnerships and advocate for increased support to address the effects of climate change.
The Jospong Group of Companies has investments in waste management, recycling and other environmental services, which form part of its contribution to Ghana’s environmental sustainability efforts.
