GNFS RESCUES 16 AFTER HEAD-ON-COLLISION AT NYAMEBEKYERE

Firefighters from the Bechem Fire Station swiftly responded to a 5:38 a.m. distress call earlier today, November 18, 2025 after a head-on collision involving a Ford Transit (AS 7172-23) and a Kia Rhino (AS 3058-X) at Nyamebekyere on the Sunyani–Kumasi highway.

An eight-member rescue team led by STNO II Simon Yeboah extricated and transported all sixteen occupants, fourteen (14) from the Ford Transit and two (2) from the Kia Rhino, to the Bechem Government Hospital and PISGAH Advanced Medical Center.

Even though the victims suffered varying degrees of injuries, no fatalities were recorded. Both vehicles, however, sustained extensive damage. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
