Ablakwa Meets GCC Envoys, Reaffirms Ghana’s Commitment to Rule-Based Global Order

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, on Monday, April 13, 2026, held high-level discussions with envoys of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) accredited to Ghana, focusing on evolving regional and global developments.

The meeting brought together key diplomatic representatives, including the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Dakhel; the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Abdulla Murad Suliaman Mohammed Al-Mandoos; the Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Khalid Bin Jabor Saif Jasser Al-Mesallam; and the Chargé d’Affaires of the State of Kuwait, Husain Alebrahim.

During the engagement, Mr. Ablakwa reaffirmed Ghana’s longstanding foreign policy principles, stressing the country’s commitment to respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and adherence to a rules-based international order.

The GCC envoys, in turn, commended the strong bilateral and multilateral cooperation between their respective countries and Ghana. They also underscored the importance of sustaining peace and stability, particularly in light of ongoing developments in the Middle East.

The diplomats highlighted the humanitarian challenges arising from conflicts in the region and called for renewed efforts toward peaceful resolution through dialogue and diplomacy.

The meeting reflects Ghana’s continued diplomatic engagement with international partners as it seeks to promote global peace, stability, and cooperation.
