The Jospong Group of Companies has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Belgian clean energy company VYNCKE to promote waste-to-energy projects across Africa.

The agreement was signed on May 6, 2026, during the IFAT conference in Munich, Germany, with officials from both companies present.

The partnership aims to transform waste into usable energy while helping African countries tackle sanitation challenges, reduce landfill pressure, and improve clean energy supply.

Under the agreement, Jospong Group will use its experience in sanitation and waste management to support project development across the continent, while VYNCKE will provide advanced waste-to-energy technology and engineering expertise.

The collaboration will focus on converting municipal, industrial, and organic waste into renewable energy, including landfill gas extraction to generate electricity from methane emissions.

The two companies will also explore carbon capture and storage technologies to help reduce industrial emissions and support climate goals.

Industry players believe the partnership marks a major step toward sustainable industrial development and cleaner energy solutions in Africa.

The initiative is expected to support job creation, environmental protection, and improved energy access as African cities continue to grow rapidly.
