The National Women’s Organiser for Zongo for John Dramani Mahama, Hajia Mariam Dzifa Mohammed, has confirmed that she personally financed over GHC 50,000 to support the conduct of internal party processes in the Lower West Akim Constituency.

In an exclusive interview with journalists, she explained that the gesture was aimed at easing the financial burden associated with nomination forms, stationery, and other logistical requirements ahead of the constituency’s branch executive elections.

She said the decision was driven by her commitment to strengthening grassroots participation and ensuring smooth internal democratic processes within the party.
According to her, supporting party structures at the base level is essential for organisational stability and effective political mobilisation.

She noted that the intervention was not influenced by pressure or external requests, but rather her personal contribution toward party development and unity at the constituency level.
The funding, she explained, was used to facilitate administrative needs linked to the nomination process and other preparations required for the upcoming branch elections.

Hajia Mariam Dzifa Mohammed also used the opportunity to encourage party members to remain focused and united as internal elections progress, stressing that strong grassroots structures remain key to political success.

Her remarks come as political parties across the country continue preparations for internal elections at various levels, with increased attention on organisation, funding, and participation.
The Lower West Akim Constituency is expected to proceed with its branch-level elections in the coming weeks as outlined by party schedules.
