The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), has honoured Mrs. Mansa Nettey, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana, as the 2024 Marketing Woman of the Year. The award was presented at the 36th National Marketing Performance Awards held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.

Mrs. Nettey was celebrated for her outstanding leadership, marketing innovation, and influence in Ghana’s financial sector. The Marketing Man of the Year award went to Dr. James Orleans-Lindsay, Executive Chairman of JL Holdings.

This year’s event was held under the theme “Repositioning Brand Ghana: Marketing for Economic Growth and Transformation” and recognised individuals and organisations that have demonstrated excellence in marketing while contributing to national development.

Breaking Barriers in Banking

Mansa Nettey made history as the first woman to be appointed CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana. With nearly two decades of experience in corporate and institutional banking, she has held senior roles including Head of Foreign Exchange Sales for Ghana and West Africa and later Head of Financial Markets, Ghana.

Her strategic leadership has not only strengthened Standard Chartered Bank’s market position but also advanced financial inclusion and innovation. She currently serves as an Executive Director on the Board of Standard Chartered Ghana and a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Standard Chartered Nigeria, underscoring her influence across the sub-region.

Academic and Professional Excellence

Mrs. Nettey holds a Master’s degree from Manchester Business School in the UK and a Pharmacy degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Her diverse academic background has shaped her analytical and strategic approach to leadership in the banking industry.

Beyond the Boardroom

Her personal battle with leukaemia inspired her to establish the Leukaemia Project Foundation in Ghana, an initiative dedicated to raising awareness and supporting patients. This advocacy work has complemented her corporate achievements and highlighted her commitment to community impact.

Over the years, she has received numerous accolades, including being named among Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government in 2018 and 2019, and in 2025 being listed among the Top 100 Ghanaian Women Board Directors by Avance Media and Acreaty Ghana.

A Celebrated Icon

By awarding her the 2024 Marketing Woman of the Year, the CIMG recognised Mrs. Nettey as a trailblazer whose achievements embody excellence in marketing leadership, brand positioning, and economic transformation.

Her recognition is not only a milestone for Standard Chartered Bank Ghana but also a powerful statement on the growing role of women in corporate leadership across Ghana and Africa.
