The head pastor of Emmanuel Army Church, Emmanuel Appiah, has been arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly making offensive and false statements on social media.

Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Biblical, is accused of publishing abusive remarks about Dr Isaac Owusu Bempah, General Overseer of the Glorious Word Power Ministries. Prosecutors say the comments, made during a livestream and shared widely across platforms including a YouTube channel named “SourcetubeTv,” were likely to incite fear and disturb public peace.

He has denied the charges.

After his bail application, the court granted him bail of GH₵100,000 with three sureties and instructed the prosecution to serve him with all necessary disclosures. The case is expected to continue on December 30, 2025.

According to the prosecution, the allegations came to light on September 4, 2025, when the complainant intercepted viral videos of the pastor making claims against Rev. Owusu Bempah. Investigators later obtained forensic copies of the recordings and worked with the Ghana Institute of Languages to transcribe the content for use as evidence.

A police report was filed shortly after, leading to Appiah’s arrest and subsequent court proceedings.
