Parliament to Reconvene on February 3

Accra, Ghana – Parliament will reconvene on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, marking the start of the second session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has announced.

According to a Constitutional Instrument issued on Monday, January 19, 2026, parliamentary proceedings will resume at the Parliament House in Accra at exactly 12:00 noon.

The announcement, signed by the Speaker, was made pursuant to Article 112(1) of the 1992 Constitution, which empowers the Speaker to designate the date, time, and venue for the commencement of a parliamentary session.

The Constitutional Instrument serves as formal notice to Members of Parliament, parliamentary staff, and the general public of the resumption of legislative business for the second session of the year.

Parliament is expected to address key national issues and continue its legislative and oversight responsibilities when it reconvenes.
