The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has referred petitions filed against its Deputy Director of Communications, Ernest Owusu Bempah, to the party’s National Council for further action.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 24, 2025, the party confirmed that it had received formal complaints from some members demanding the removal of Mr. Owusu Bempah over what they described as conduct of “grave concern.”
The NPP explained that because his appointment was made on the recommendation of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and subsequently approved by the National Council, the matter has been directed to the same body for consideration.
“The Party reaffirms its unwavering commitment to upholding discipline, safeguarding its values, and ensuring that all matters are handled with fairness and transparency,” the statement signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong read.
The referral comes at a time when questions about party discipline and internal accountability are gaining momentum as the NPP prepares for critical upcoming elections.
