The Ghana Police Service has received 40 new armoured vehicles to boost operations and improve public safety across the country. The vehicles were handed over on Thursday, December 4, at a ceremony attended by President John Dramani Mahama, senior government officials, and top police commanders.

Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohunu said the vehicles would be deployed where they are most needed and assured that they would be properly maintained. He thanked the government for its support, noting that the investment would help the Service carry out its duties more effectively.

“We are grateful to the government for prioritising our needs. We will take good care of these vehicles and put them to proper use to achieve their purpose,” he said.

The handover, witnessed by Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak and other senior officers, underscored the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthen law enforcement.

IGP Yohunu added that the new vehicles would improve emergency response, enhance community safety, and support efforts to maintain law and order. He also encouraged officers to handle the resources responsibly as they work to protect lives and property nationwide.
