Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe Supports 39 Schools, Appeals for Urgent Feeder Road Rehabilitation in Amenfi Central

The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, continues to advance education and infrastructure development in the constituency through targeted interventions aimed at improving learning conditions and boosting economic activity.

Teacher Initiative Supports 39 Schools

Under the Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe Teacher Initiative, a total of 39 basic schools across Amenfi Central have received financial support, benefiting 8,829 pupils and 137 teachers.

The initiative provides monthly financial assistance amounting to GHS 84,240, bringing the total disbursement to GHS 589,680 over a seven-month period. Each beneficiary school received between GHS 8,400 and GHS 22,400 for the period, based on teacher numbers and pupil enrollment.

Beneficiary schools include Agyedum D/A, Obing Methodist Primary, Chichiso No. 2, and several others across the constituency.

The initiative is designed to support teachers and strengthen basic education delivery, acknowledging the critical role teachers play in shaping the future of the district. Community leaders and education stakeholders have welcomed the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful.

MP Appeals for Rehabilitation of Feeder Roads

In addition to education support, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe has appealed to the government to urgently rehabilitate several feeder roads in Amenfi Central, citing their deteriorated state and the hardship they pose to residents.

The MP has formally submitted a comprehensive list of critical road corridors to the Ministry of Roads and Highways for consideration under ongoing and future feeder road programmes. The roads serve major farming, trading, and residential communities and link Amenfi Central to neighboring districts.

Key road stretches highlighted include Humgbedire (Gate)–Ankwaso–Juabo–Wuratrem–Wasa Akropong; Wuratrem–Ankasie–Agona Amenfi; Pensanom–Obeng–Anakum–Amuni Dwirigum–Fuleso; and Agona Amenfi–Kyenkyen Nkwanta–Agona Camp–Owusu Dapaa–Amoanda.

Others are Kwabeng Junction–Kofi Gyan–Kyeikrom–Ashiam; Agona Amenfi–Jedua Kesse; Manso Amenfi–Kwabuakrom; Manso Amenfi–Manso Manhyia; Dominase–Asuminam–Bredi–Kwakuboa; and Nkwanta No. 2–Guabase–Ampontengkrom–Juabo.

Additional roads identified as being in particularly poor condition include Ankasie–Donkorkrom–Jedua Asamang; Manso Amenfi–Subriho; Manso Amenfi–Atonsu; Manso Amenfi–Adidaase–Aku Nkwanta–Antobam–Akyemkrom; and Manso Amenfi–Chichiso No. 2–Antobam.

Further submissions cover Agyakaamanso–Anomatoa–Beposo; Beposo Junction–Natiedi–Ayigbe; Sompre Junction–Dwete; Kwakuboa–Kwabikrom; Juakwa–Ohihyeda; Dominase Nkwanta–Kokonkyea–Agyakaamanso; Dominase Nkwanta–Pramso; Ankasie–Amokrom; Jedua Kesse–Subriagya; and Kyenkyen Nkwanta–Nuamakrom.

The list also includes Agona Amenfi–Agona Camp–Bredi; Kwamang–Manukrom–Nkwantanan; Suroso–Supanso; Bonuama–Agave; Hiawa–Wassa Bekwai–Gyaboase; Nkakaa–Abuom; Pensanom Junction–Kramokrom; and Agona Amenfi–Kwaadjeikrom.

According to the MP, rehabilitating these roads is critical to improving the movement of farm produce, enhancing access to schools and health facilities, and supporting overall socio-economic development in Amenfi Central.

She has urged the Ministry of Roads and Highways and other relevant agencies to treat the request with urgency, stressing that improved road infrastructure will directly impact livelihoods and growth across the constituency.
