Trade, Agribusiness and Industry Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare says the government is stepping up efforts to boost youth entrepreneurship and skills development through the Edwumawura Programme.

Speaking at the King of England’s Birthday celebration held at the British High Commissioner’s residence in Accra on Tuesday, November 25, she said the initiative is designed to provide young business owners with training opportunities, access to startup funding, and mentorship. The event was attended by the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward.

According to the Minister, the programme aims to support at least 10,000 young entrepreneurs annually as part of a national strategy to promote economic growth and job creation.

“This government remains deeply committed to empowering the youth,” Ofosu-Adjare noted. “Through Edwumawura, we are giving young people the skills and capital they need to build viable businesses and drive the future of our economy.”

She emphasized that youth development remains a central priority as Ghana works toward a more inclusive and resilient economic landscape.
