Two employees of Asomdwie Rubber Company, a Chinese-owned firm operating a shoe and plastic processing factory at Atonsu Agogo in the Ashanti Region, have been found dead in a parked vehicle under circumstances yet to be explained.
The deceased have been identified as Baba, a senior staff member, and a female colleague who had worked at the company for less than two months. Their bodies were discovered on the back seat of Baba’s vehicle, with the woman’s head resting on his. Baba was found wearing a singlet and shorts. The vehicle’s tinted windows were rolled up and the doors locked at the time it was opened by police.
According to sources, staff of the company had earlier attended the wedding of one of their managers on Saturday, November 22. Both Baba and the female employee were present at the event. Later that evening, the young woman reported for her shift but complained of feeling unwell and was advised to go home.
Residents say Baba drove into the area around 8 p.m. that same night. His car was first seen parked with the engine running, which later went off. The vehicle remained in the same position throughout Sunday, November 23.
It was not until the morning of Monday, November 24, that workers and residents noticed a strong smell coming from the car and alerted the police. Officers broke the windows to gain access and discovered the two bodies.
Further information reveals that Baba had married in August 2025 and his wife is expecting a child. The female staff member was also reportedly preparing for her own wedding in December 2025.
Police have taken the bodies to the morgue as investigations continue into the cause of death.
