A woman said to be engaged in commercial sex work has reported an alleged assault by a client in Sekondi following a dispute over payment after a paid encounter.
The victim, a Nigerian national who gave her name as Nancy, told police that the incident occurred on Friday night after a man approached her and requested her services. She said the two agreed on a fee of GH₵50 for a short stay and later moved to the man’s residence.
According to Nancy, she became physically exhausted during the encounter and informed the client that she could not continue. She said the man reacted angrily, accusing her of failing to fully satisfy him.
She explained that the client demanded a refund of the money, arguing that the service was incomplete. Nancy said she refused, maintaining that she had already fulfilled the agreement as agreed.
The disagreement reportedly escalated when the man demanded her mobile phone as compensation. She said she declined, after which the client allegedly assaulted her.
Nancy said she has since reported the incident to the Sekondi Police. Police officers issued her a medical report form to seek treatment while investigations into the matter continue.
