Agenda 111 May Take 193 Years to Complete if Current Funding Continues – Atwima Nwabiagya North MP

Atwima Nwabiagya North MP Frank Yeboah has raised serious concerns over the government’s budget allocation for Agenda 111 hospital projects, warning that the current funding approach could delay the initiative for more than a century.

Speaking during the 2026 budget debate on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, he criticised the allocation of GHS100 million for the completion of only 10 hospitals. According to him, each facility is estimated to cost about GHS170 million, putting the combined bill for the ten sites at nearly GHS19.26 billion.

He argued that the financial commitment falls far short of what is required. Using the current budget as a benchmark, Yeboah estimated that the programme would not be fully delivered until the year 2219.

“At this pace, it would take 193 years to complete Agenda 111,” he said, questioning why the government is not giving health infrastructure the attention it deserves.

The MP cautioned that without a drastic improvement in funding, many of the facilities will remain incomplete, denying communities much-needed access to healthcare.

Agenda 111 was introduced during the COVID-19 era to address the lack of district hospitals across the country. Although construction began under the previous administration, most of the sites are yet to be finished. The minority continues to accuse the current government of neglecting the programme, while officials maintain they are working to deliver every hospital under the initiative.
