Corporate Ghana and international partners have stepped up relief efforts for victims of the devastating June 29, 2026 floods, donating cash, food, medical supplies and other essential items to support affected families and communities.
The donations, received on behalf of the Presidency by senior government officials, are expected to provide immediate relief to families who lost homes, belongings and sources of livelihood following the disaster that affected Accra and other parts of the country.
Among the officials who received the donations were the Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Administration, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo; Legal Advisor to the President, Marietta Brew; and Presidential Advisor, Joyce Bawah Mogtari.
Cash Support
Two organisations have so far made significant cash contributions towards the relief effort.
SoftCare FM Manufacturing Company Limited donated GH¢200,000, while the Ghana Institute of Surveyors contributed GH¢50,000.
The cash donations are expected to complement government efforts to provide assistance to affected households and support the broader recovery process.
Corporate and Organisational Support
The Ghana Association of Chinese Societies and Companies made one of the largest in-kind contributions, providing thousands of bags of rice, sachet water and gari, as well as medical supplies, including 2,000 malaria test kits and anti-malaria medicines.
The association also donated 3,000 sleeping mats, appliances, water tanks and school bags to support displaced families and children.
The MTN Ghana and Multimedia Group relief campaign provided 1,400 mattresses, 1,192 blankets and nearly 1,000 relief boxes containing food, mosquito nets and hygiene products.
Sentuo Group Limited donated 4,000 25-kilogramme bags of rice, 600 bags of sugar and 387 boxes of granular maize.
Ecobank Ghana also contributed essential medicines, 1,000 bags of water, 195 mattresses, blankets and bales of clothing for flood victims.
Other companies and organisations have also joined the relief effort.
B5 Plus Limited donated food items, Cerelac baby food, 100 pairs of Wellington boots, raincoats, mosquito nets and blankets, while SoftCare FM Manufacturing Company Limited provided sanitary pads, diapers, KleenSoft soap and washing powder.
Tobinco Group supplied 5,000 gallons of Omal liquid soap, 100 boxes of antiseptic and 400 gallons of bleach to support sanitation and hygiene efforts in affected communities.
Eezzy Group donated more than 1,000 bags of rice, canned beef, spaghetti and baking supplies.
Kam Trading & Farms Limited also contributed 445 bags of 25-kilogramme rice.
Solidarity in Times of Crisis
The scale of the donations reflects the growing solidarity from the private sector, civil society and international partners as Ghana continues to respond to the devastating impact of the June 29 floods.
Beyond the immediate provision of food and household items, the donations of mattresses, blankets, medical supplies, hygiene products and other essentials are expected to help restore some measure of dignity and stability to families who were displaced by the disaster.
The government has expressed its appreciation to all corporate organisations, institutions and international partners that have contributed to the relief effort.
The support, according to the government, demonstrates the importance of collective action in times of national crisis as efforts continue to assist affected communities and rebuild lives and livelihoods.
Together, Ghana is rebuilding.
