Pius Enam Hadzide has endorsed Bryan Acheampong as the New Patriotic Party’s preferred choice to lead the party into the 2028 general elections, calling on party members to prioritise unity, discipline, and trust as the NPP rebuilds following recent electoral setbacks.

In a campaign statement issued on behalf of Bryan Acheampong, Mr. Hadzide said the party’s last electoral performance exposed deep internal divisions, declining voter turnout, reduced parliamentary strength, and weakened grassroots mobilisation. He urged party stakeholders to confront these challenges honestly and work deliberately to heal rifts that continue to play out across traditional and social media platforms.

Acheampong Positioned as a Unifying Leader

According to the statement, Bryan Acheampong is being presented as a unifying figure capable of leading the party forward, rather than deepening existing divisions. Mr. Hadzide described him as a leader shaped by grassroots party work, organisational discipline, military training, private sector experience, and practical governance exposure in key sectors including national security, the interior, and agriculture.

The endorsement highlights Mr. Acheampong’s results-driven leadership style, emphasising action and delivery over political titles—an approach the campaign argues is necessary to restore confidence among party supporters and reconnect with the wider electorate.

Roadmap to 2028

Looking ahead to the 2028 elections, the statement outlines what it considers the essential ingredients for victory: a trusted presidential candidate, a united and disciplined party structure, a clear and confident national message, and strong, decisive leadership. Mr. Hadzide maintained that Bryan Acheampong embodies these qualities and is well positioned to lead the NPP back to electoral success.

While acknowledging past mistakes, the statement also referenced the NPP’s record in government since 2017, citing investments in infrastructure, efforts to stabilise key systems, and policies aimed at economic growth. It pledged a future approach that is humble but confident, learning from past challenges while building on achievements.

Vision for Ghana

The campaign’s broader vision for Ghana places strong emphasis on agriculture as a pathway for youth employment, housing as a driver of job creation, tourism as a catalyst for regional development, and security as a foundation for families and businesses. Support for entrepreneurs and investors also features prominently, alongside commitments to early organisation, proper resourcing, discipline, respect, and empowered party structures.

Strategically, the statement outlines a phased roadmap: the current year focused on unity and rebuilding, the following year on readiness, and the election year firmly centred on victory.

The statement concludes with a call on party delegates to rally behind Bryan Acheampong in the interest of unity and direction, while appealing to Ghanaians to support leadership that listens, acts, and brings people together. It expresses confidence that Mr. Acheampong’s leadership can restore faith in the New Patriotic Party and guide both the party and the nation toward electoral success.
