It is a complete lie for the Walewale Member of Parliament to claim that Bawa-Rock Company Limited was strictly set up for farming/fishing simply because the company’s Nature of Business/Sector is listed as Farming/Fisheries and its ISIC Code is described as Mixed Farming (ISIC Code 0150).
I will use this opportunity to educate Hon. Dr. Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama, one of the darling boys of Dr. Bawumia, as follows:
A company’s profile or business details are assessed based on its Principal Activity and Objects of the Company, not solely on its Nature of Business/Sector.
The Nature of Business/Sector reflects the primary aim of a company within a specific economic activity, while the Principal Activity and Objects of the Company address specific secondary activities and broader objectives. These allow room for future expansion, especially where the company’s vision spans multiple economic sectors.
The ISIC Code is a global classification system recommended by the United Nations Statistical Commission for categorising economic activities and businesses by their primary activity. It is used by the United Nations and countries worldwide, including Ghana, for economic statistics, administration, data gathering, and analysis. Its purpose is to standardise industrial data for comparison and policy-making.
A careful scrutiny of the Company Profile/Business Details of Bawa-Rock Ltd (attached below) clearly shows that “Dealers in Precious Minerals” is emphatically captured under both the Objects of the Company and its Principal Activity.
So what justification does the Walewale Member of Parliament have for lying that Bawa-Rock was set up solely for farming/fishing? You may lie to your gullible followers, but please do so with dignity and integrity, considering the fact that you are a PhD holder and an Honourable Member of Parliament.
Bawa-Rock Ltd was licensed by the NPP government as a Licensed Gold Buyer on three separate occasions:
(a) 15th February 2019 – 14th February 2020
(b) 20th October 2022 – 19th October 2023
(c) 16th August 2024 – 15th August 2025
I therefore ask Hon. Dr. Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama this simple question: Was the NPP government so incompetent that it licensed a company supposedly set up for farming/fishing as a gold buyer? Or was the CEO of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) under our government also too incompetent to identify that Bawa-Rock was merely a farming/fishing company?
Per his own statement and the evidence he shared on Facebook, Hon. Dr. Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama admitted that Bawa-Rock was registered in 2015. Why then did they lie to Ghanaians that Bawa-Rock was registered in February 2025?
The NPP is already suffering from trust issues; please, and respectfully, let us not compound the problem with lies and intellectual dishonesty.
The NPP must be rebranded, rebuilt, and repositioned with honesty, truth, credibility, and integrity in order to regain the trust and confidence of the Ghanaian people.
