Wassa East MP Isaac Adjei-Mensah Sworn In as Chair of Ghana Road Fund Board
Hon. Isaac Adjei-Mensah, Member of Parliament for Wassa East in the Western Region, has been sworn in as the new Chairman of the Ghana Road Fund Board. His appointment adds another key responsibility to his long-standing involvement in the country’s road infrastructure sector.
Adjei-Mensah previously served as Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways and later became the Ranking Member on the Roads and Highways Committee of Parliament. He currently chairs the Parliamentary Select Committee on Roads and Transport, reinforcing his influence in shaping national road policy and oversight.
His record in the sector has been noted for its depth and consistency, with many stakeholders describing his contributions to legislative work, sector reforms, and project monitoring as significant. That background positions him to take on the Road Fund’s central mandate—mobilising, managing, and disbursing funds for maintenance, rehabilitation, and improvement of Ghana’s road network.
He assumes leadership at a time when the Road Fund faces pressure to improve transparency, clear arrears owed to contractors, and ensure reliable financing for ongoing and future projects. Expectations are high that his experience and strong grasp of sector challenges will translate into more efficient management and better outcomes for road users nationwide.
His swearing-in marks a new chapter for the Road Fund Board, with hopes that his technical and legislative insight will drive overdue improvements in Ghana’s road financing and maintenance framework.
