A tragic accident on the Kasoa Highway, near Kasoa Broadcasting, has claimed one life and left another in critical condition. The incident, which involved a Nissan Urvan minibus, a moving trailer, and a stationary long trailer, is being blamed on a malfunctioning streetlight that caused poor visibility.

Eyewitnesses say the faulty streetlight made it impossible for the minibus driver to spot the parked trailer in time, leading to the fatal collision. The impact scattered debris across the highway, drawing shocked onlookers, while emergency responders arrived to manage the scene.

Local residents have expressed frustration over the recurring accidents along this stretch of road, blaming the lack of functional streetlights and poor nighttime visibility. Many are calling for urgent action from the relevant authorities to repair the faulty lighting system and improve road safety measures to prevent future tragedies.

“This is not the first time,” said a concerned resident. “We have lost too many lives because of these broken streetlights.”

While the identity of the deceased has been confirmed, authorities have not yet released further details pending family notification. The injured victim has been rushed to a nearby hospital and is receiving medical treatment.
