
President John Dramani Mahama joined the Gonjaland Youth Association in Buipe to celebrate its 50th Anniversary, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to the growth and development of the Savannah Region.

In his address, President Mahama highlighted major initiatives in the education sector, including plans to establish STEM schools in Tinga and Busunu, expand infrastructure across Senior High Schools, and upgrade selected Category B schools to Category A status. He stressed the pivotal role of education in national progress, noting, “Education is the bridge between where we are and where we aspire to be.”

The President also outlined plans to enhance sports and commerce in the region, announcing the construction of a modern sports stadium and 24-hour markets in every district. These projects are expected to create jobs, support businesses, and broaden economic opportunities, particularly for young people.

President Mahama’s visit underscores the Government’s commitment to leveraging education, infrastructure, and youth empowerment as drivers of sustainable development in the Savannah Region.
