Mother of Deputy Trade Minister Sampson Ahi Laid to Rest at Sefwi Bodi

Sefwi Bodi, Western North Region — The late Obaapanin Grace Bomo Andoh, mother of Hon. Sampson Ahi, Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry and Member of Parliament, was laid to rest on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Sefwi Bodi.

The final funeral and burial rites were marked by a solemn but well-attended ceremony, drawing a large gathering of family members, friends, sympathisers and high-profile dignitaries from across the country.

Among those present were the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare; the Minister for Health, Hon. Mintah Akandoh; and the Majority Leader in Parliament, Hon. Mahama Ayariga. Several Members of Parliament, senior government officials and members of the clergy were also in attendance to offer their condolences and support to the bereaved family.

Also present were the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia; the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Andrew Asiamah; and Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo from the Office of the Vice President. They joined other party executives and community leaders to pay their final respects to the departed matriarch.

The ceremony featured prayers, tributes and traditional rites in honour of Obaapanin Grace Bomo Andoh, who was remembered by family members and community leaders as a loving mother, a pillar of support to many, and a respected figure in Sefwi Bodi.

Mourners used the occasion to reflect on her life of service, humility and dedication to family and community, while offering words of comfort to Hon. Sampson Ahi and the entire Andoh family during their time of grief.

The burial brought to a close several days of funeral activities, leaving residents and sympathisers united in celebrating the legacy of a woman whose impact will long be remembered.
