The government is set to deepen stakeholder engagement by extending consultations to civil society organisations (CSOs), according to Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

He revealed that John Dramani Mahama will move to engage CSOs after concluding ongoing discussions with organised labour, as part of efforts to strengthen inclusive governance and improve policy outcomes.

Speaking on the development, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu explained that the President’s approach is aimed at drawing on a wider range of perspectives to shape government policies.

“After engagements with organised labour, the President will turn his attention to civil society organisations to ensure their views are also reflected in governance. This will help generate well-rounded ideas for policy refinement and more effective implementation,” he stated.

The announcement follows a meeting between President Mahama and organised labour on Tuesday, March 17, convened in response to a recent strike action.

The planned consultations with CSOs are expected to further broaden participation in governance, enhance transparency, and contribute to more responsive and inclusive policymaking.
