Mahama Joins Chief Imam, Muslim Community for Eid Prayers at Black Star Square

President John Dramani Mahama joined the National Chief Imam, Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, and hundreds of worshippers at Black Star Square for Eid ul-Fitr prayers, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Addressing the gathering, President Mahama described Eid as more than a celebration, stressing that it serves as a reminder to uphold the values of discipline, sacrifice, and compassion cultivated during Ramadan. He urged Ghanaians to reflect these virtues in their daily lives, promoting unity, tolerance, and mutual respect across communities.

The President reaffirmed his government’s commitment to inclusive development, noting that efforts are underway to ensure that no part of the country is left behind. He emphasized that national progress depends on a collective effort between leadership and citizens.

Touching on Ghana’s reputation for religious harmony, President Mahama called on citizens to preserve the country’s peaceful coexistence by rejecting division and strengthening national unity.

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, commended the President for his leadership and dedication to fulfilling promises made to Ghanaians. He offered prayers for strength, wisdom, and success in the President’s tenure, and urged government appointees to support policies that improve the lives of citizens.

President Mahama also extended warm Eid ul-Fitr wishes to Muslims across the country, praying for continued peace, stability, and prosperity for Ghana.
