
Ms Elsie Appiah-Osei, Chief Reporter of the Ghana News Agency (GNA), has been honoured as Best Online Parliamentary Reporter at the 2025 Parliament Media Soiree and Recognition Awards held in Accra on Saturday.
The award recognises her consistent excellence in parliamentary journalism and her role in delivering accurate, timely and analytical coverage of Ghana’s legislative business to the public. Over the past three years, Ms Appiah-Osei has distinguished herself through in-depth reporting that enhances public understanding of parliamentary debates, committee work and policy decisions.
As a parliamentary correspondent for GNA, she has built a reputation for clarity, balance and speed in reporting proceedings of Parliament, ensuring citizens are well-informed on issues shaping national governance. Her work has been particularly notable in the digital space, where her reports have reached wider audiences and strengthened public engagement with parliamentary affairs.
Ms Appiah-Osei is a Chief Reporter at the Ghana News Agency and holds a Master’s degree in Development Communication from the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC). Her academic background has complemented her professional practice, enabling her to frame legislative issues within broader development and governance contexts.
The Parliament Media Soiree and Recognition Awards is set to be held annually to celebrates outstanding journalists whose work promotes transparency, accountability and effective communication between Parliament and the public. Ms Appiah-Osei’s recognition adds to a growing list of accolades she has received for her commitment to high professional standards, including previous honours for excellence in online journalism.
