Ghana has signed a US$12.83 million grant agreement with the African Development Bank (AfDB) to fund detailed feasibility studies for several key infrastructure and development projects under the government’s Big Push programme.
The grant, signed earlier today, will support in-depth assessments for projects that include:
- A proposed interchange at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
- Market redevelopment projects at Agbogbloshie, Techiman, Sekondi, and Mankessim.
- Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones in the Afram Plains, Nsawam, and Builsa.

The funding will cover comprehensive feasibility studies, including detailed designs, cost estimates, and environmental and social impact assessments, ensuring that the projects are ready for construction.
In a statement, the government expressed gratitude to the AfDB and its Ghana Country Manager, Eyerusalem Fasika, for their partnership and ongoing support.
“The aim is to complete these studies promptly so construction can commence soon,” the statement noted, highlighting the government’s commitment to accelerating infrastructure and economic development through the Big Push initiative.
