Accra, February 15, 2026 – Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged party members to forgive past grievances from the recent campaign and work towards unity as the party positions itself for the next political cycle.

Speaking at the National Thanksgiving Service held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on Sunday, Dr. Bawumia appealed to party faithful to move past hurtful exchanges and embrace reconciliation.

“On this day, as we celebrate and give thanks together, I ask all of us, sincerely, to forgive one another for the unpalatable things that may have been said during the campaign,” he said.

He acknowledged that while the healing process is ongoing, progress has already been made. “I have been encouraged by the efforts many of you have made to reach out to your brothers and sisters after the elections. Though the work of healing is not yet complete, I believe we have started well, and I commend all patriots for the steps taken so far,” Dr. Bawumia added.

The call for forgiveness underscores a broader effort by the NPP leadership to strengthen party cohesion ahead of upcoming political engagements.
