The management team of Ghanaian artiste AratheJay has formally petitioned the Board of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) to explain the exclusion of key submissions from the 27th edition nominations.
In a statement issued after the nominees were unveiled on Saturday, March 14, 2026, the team said it had written to Charterhouse Ghana, organisers of the awards, highlighting what it described as inconsistencies between the documented performance of AratheJay’s debut album, The Odyssey, and the scheme’s published award definitions.

According to the management, The Odyssey reached the Top 5 on Apple Music Ghana charts shortly after its release in October 2025 and later entered the Top 10 most streamed albums in Ghana on Spotify for the year.
Despite this performance, the team said three major submissions were omitted from the nominations list. These include:
- The Odyssey for Album/EP of the Year
- Put Am On God for Best Rap Performance
- Cover Me for Best Male Vocal Performance
The management noted that all entries were duly submitted through the official TGMA nominations process.
The statement emphasised that the request is not based on entitlement but rather a call for transparency in the awards process.
“We are simply asking the Board to explain how both sets of information were reconciled in arriving at the nominations list,” the team stated, adding that transparency is essential for the growth and credibility of the Ghanaian music industry.
The management concluded that it remains confident the TGMA Board will provide the necessary clarification regarding the omissions.
While expressing appreciation for the three nominations AratheJay did receive, including Best Music Video for Put Am On God, Best Reggae/Dancehall Song for Talisman featuring Stonebwoy, and Best Hiplife Song for Fire featuring Ko-Jo Cue, the team maintained that the omissions warrant further clarification.
