The Head Pastor and Founder of Heaven Nti Church, Apostle Joseph Osei, popularly known as “Voice of Prophet,” has attributed the recent spate of highway accidents in Ghana to spiritual causes.

Speaking during a church gathering, Apostle Osei claimed that a number of the fatal road crashes recorded in early 2026 are the result of what he described as demonic forces demanding blood sacrifices.

According to him, these spiritual entities have “engulfed the country” due to disobedience and moral decline among some residents. He asserted that such forces operate by causing fatal accidents on major highways.

“These demons require sacrifices to operate, and they manifest through tragic accidents on our roads,” he stated.

The cleric called on Christians across the country to intensify prayer and worship, urging believers to live in holiness and remain spiritually vigilant when travelling.

“Christians must pray more than ever before, considering the aggressiveness of Satan and his allies,” he said, adding that the perceived increase in road accidents is part of what he described as a heightened spiritual battle.

Apostle Osei further encouraged the Christian community to seek divine protection for themselves and their families, especially when embarking on long journeys.

Ghana has recorded several road traffic incidents in recent months, with road safety authorities consistently attributing most crashes to human error, including speeding, wrongful overtaking, fatigue and failure to observe traffic regulations.

While Apostle Osei’s remarks reflect a spiritual interpretation of the accidents, road safety experts continue to emphasise adherence to traffic laws, improved driver training and stricter enforcement as critical measures to reducing fatalities on the country’s highways.

The comments have since sparked conversations on the intersection between faith perspectives and road safety discourse in Ghana.
