Central Agric M/A School in the Kwadaso Municipality is witnessing a remarkable transformation under the leadership of Mrs. Abigail Adjei Boakye Boateng, one of the youngest headteachers in the municipality, whose administration is being credited with several major initiatives that are reshaping the school’s history and future.
Mrs. Boakye Boateng, who has served as headmistress of the school for two years and five months, describes the journey as both challenging and fulfilling, especially as this is her first appointment as a headmistress.
Despite the short period, her tenure has already been marked by significant developments in academics, infrastructure, and school administration.
One of her major achievements was the organisation of the first-ever Speech and Prize-Giving Day in the history of the school, which was established over 65 years ago.
The event brought together parents, education authorities, and community leaders and helped revive academic motivation among pupils and teachers.
In a further effort to build school identity and pride, Mrs. Boakye Boateng also composed the first school anthem, another historic milestone for the institution after more than six decades of existence.
Under her administration, the school has also established a school garden, aimed at supporting practical agriculture studies and improving student participation in agricultural education, in line with the school’s Agric focus.
Her leadership has also resulted in important partnerships that have brought support to the school. Through her initiative, the Member of Parliament for Kwadaso Constituency, Prof. Kingsley Nyarko, donated library books and school uniforms to support teaching and learning and assist needy pupils.
In addition, she engaged Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, Chief of Agric Nzema, who has supported the school by fixing dangerous pillars on an abandoned upper primary block, which had remained incomplete for many years.
The chief has also promised to ensure the completion of the building.
Mrs. Boakye Boateng noted that the school has also gained recognition as one of the most peaceful schools in the Agric Circuit, according to the School Improvement Support Officer (SISO), a development she attributes to discipline, teamwork, and cooperation between teachers, pupils, and parents.
Perhaps one of the biggest milestones in the school’s history will take place on March 30, 2026, when the first-ever ICT laboratory in the school’s 66-year history will be commissioned by the Member of Parliament for Kwadaso Constituency.
The ICT lab is expected to significantly improve digital learning and expose pupils to technology at an early stage.
Beyond her administrative work, Mrs. Boakye Boateng is also contributing to education through writing and has authored a book, which is expected to be published soon.
Looking ahead, she also announced plans to organise the maiden graduation ceremony for final-year pupils, expected to take place in July, next academic term.
Mrs. Abigail Boakye Boateng’s story reflects how leadership, initiative, and community engagement can transform a public basic school, even within a short period.
Many education observers in the municipality say her work is a strong example of how young school leaders are beginning to change the face of basic education at the local level.
