A young carpenter from Hohoe, Delali Asem, and his mother are appealing to the public for urgent support following a serious road accident that has left him with a badly damaged and deteriorating leg.
Delali works with Alex Tata & Co., located near the Texpo Market area on the Spintex Road. According to him, the incident occurred on January 8, 2026, when his supervisor sent him to fix a door frame for a client at Vivian Farm around 2pm.
While attempting to cross the road near the Vivian Farm bus stop, Delali was knocked down by a motorcycle. Unable to get back on his feet after the first impact, he was struck again when a vehicle ran over his leg, severely crushing the bones in his left foot.
Eyewitnesses rushed him to the Sakumono Community Hospital. He was later referred to Tema General Hospital, where he received emergency treatment and was discharged on January 10. The accident has since been reported to the Vivian Farm Police Station.
Since leaving the hospital, Delali says his condition has worsened, with his injured leg now in a critical state and requiring further medical care. He also claims that efforts to get support from his employer after the accident have not been successful.
Now unable to work and facing mounting medical needs, Delali and his mother are calling on the public, benevolent organisations and individuals to come to their aid to help him receive the treatment needed to save his leg and rebuild his life.
They say any financial or medical support could make the difference between recovery and permanent disability.
