The Narcotics Control Commission (NARCOC) has destroyed illegal drugs valued at more than GH¢2.5 million in Tamale after a series of arrests and successful prosecutions of suspected traffickers across the Northern Region.

Officials say the destruction exercise followed court orders after the suspects were convicted, with the seized substances linked to multiple anti narcotics operations carried out in recent months.

According to NARCOC, the move forms part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on drug trafficking and abuse, while sending a strong warning to criminal networks operating within the region.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to sustained enforcement, intelligence led operations, and collaboration with other security agencies to reduce the circulation of illicit drugs and protect public safety.
