Government representatives have outlined a series of ongoing and upcoming development projects across the Ashanti Region following their participation in the first Akwasidae celebration of the year at the Manhyia Palace.
The delegation included Council of State members Hon. Betty Mould-Iddrisu and Chairman Yaw Obimpeh, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, and other dignitaries.
According to the update, several projects commenced in January and are progressing steadily. These include the Asokwa to Ahodwo dualization, Ahodwo to Santasi dualization, Bekwai Roundabout to Santasi road project, and the Mankranso to Kumasi road works. Others are the Sekyere Nsuta to Sekyere Kwamang road and the Agogo to Maame Krobo road project.

During the traditional ceremony, the government representative conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of the President to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. The occasion was also used to brief the Asantehene on the status of key infrastructure and social projects currently underway in the region.
Additional initiatives highlighted were land allocation by the Asantehene for a National Theatre project, installation of solar street lighting along key corridors, construction of a Cath Lab under the Mahama Care Fund, and a Modern Urban Park project being undertaken by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly. Various education and health infrastructure projects funded through the Common Fund and the Ghana Education Trust Fund are also ongoing.

Key priorities outlined for February include accelerating work on the Suame Interchange, advancing the Outer Kumasi Big Push Ring Roads, continuing all projects started or revived in January, and commencing major town road projects across the region.

Officials say the projects demonstrate continued collaboration between government and traditional authorities aimed at improving transport, healthcare, education, safety, and economic opportunities for residents.
They reaffirmed their commitment to delivering measurable development outcomes across communities in the Ashanti Region.
