Accra – Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh, widow of the late highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to Ghanaians following what she described as an overwhelming and emotional reception upon her return to the country.

In a statement dated January 10, Mrs. Fosuh recounted her journey from Germany to Accra, explaining that the trip was undertaken amid severe winter conditions across parts of Europe, which created uncertainty and flight disruptions.

She said she committed the journey into God’s hands after bidding farewell to her daughter at the airport in Germany, noting that heavy snowfall and widespread flight cancellations heightened her anxiety ahead of the flight.

Mrs. Fosuh arrived safely at the Kotoka International Airport on January 9, 2026, where she was surprised by a large crowd that had gathered at the terminal to welcome her.

“As I noticed the crowd ahead, I initially wondered whether a national figure had arrived on the same flight,” she said. “But as I moved closer, I realised the gathering was for me, the widow of Daddy Lumba.”

Describing the moment as humbling and deeply moving, she said the love shown by the supporters, along with the placards and messages displayed, brought her to tears and reminded her of a biblical passage about perseverance and vindication.

Mrs. Fosuh, who described herself as quiet and reserved, said the warm reception exceeded all her expectations and will remain a cherished memory for her and her family.

“The evening of January 9 will forever remain engraved in our hearts as one of the most unforgettable moments of our lives,” she stated.

She used the opportunity to thank several individuals and groups for their encouragement and support, with special appreciation to Team Legal Wives for standing firmly by her throughout a difficult period.

“Your prayers, advocacy, and solidarity have strengthened me beyond words,” she noted, describing their unity as a powerful symbol of collective support.

Mrs. Fosuh also expressed gratitude to the Fosuh family, the organisers of the reception, airport authorities, the Ghana Police Service, and supporters who travelled from different parts of the country to welcome her back home.

She said the show of love and unity has renewed her strength and appreciation for the support she continues to receive from Ghanaians.
