Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has expressed strong confidence in Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s ability to lead Ghana, should she become the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on her credentials and leadership qualities, Mr. Iddrisu described the Vice President as well-positioned to guide the country. “She’s the Vice President of the Republic, and arguably, given her standing, she’s very capable of leading the country. I have worked very closely with her, and 2028 is still far away,” he said.

Mr. Iddrisu also highlighted her capacity to maintain unity within the NDC. “We’re talking about three years, but Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang comes to me as someone who can hold the unity of the NDC as a political party and provide leadership,” he added.
The remarks underline growing support within the party for Prof. Opoku-Agyemang as preparations for the 2028 elections begin to take shape.
