His Royal Majesty Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State and President of the Asogli Traditional Area, chaired the 41st National Farmers Day celebration, bringing his voice and leadership to one of the most important events on Ghana’s agricultural calendar. The former president of the National House of Chiefs used the platform to urge the country to rethink its approach to food production.
Addressing the gathering, Togbe Afede said countries with only four percent of their population in agriculture are able to feed themselves, adding that Ghana can achieve the same with the right mindset and commitment. He encouraged stakeholders to bring new ideas on board and embrace innovation to strengthen the sector.
He noted that Ghana’s potential is vast, and the nation must invest in modern solutions, support farmers, and drive efficiency across the agricultural chain. His remarks set a strong tone for the celebration, reminding the country that food security depends on bold decisions and forward-thinking strategies.
This year’s event also honoured the dedication and resilience of farmers across the country while highlighting the need for continued collaboration and innovation. Togbe Afede’s call for new ideas resonated throughout the ceremony, reinforcing the message that Ghana’s agricultural future is within reach.
