The Human Rights Court has thrown out an application by former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta seeking permission to amend his writ and secure discovery in his ongoing case against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
The bid formed part of a broader effort by Mr. Ofori-Atta to challenge his designation as a wanted person and the arrest warrant issued for him. The OSP has already filed 78 charges against him and seven others over their alleged involvement in the controversial revenue assurance agreements between the Ghana Revenue Authority and Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML).
The charges, filed under case number CR/0106/2026 at the Criminal Division of the High Court in Accra, cite alleged breaches of Section 23(1) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), and Section 92(2)(b) of the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663).
With Tuesday’s ruling, the Human Rights Court clears the way for the substantive case to proceed.
