Burma Camp pharmacy assault: Soldier granted GH¢70,000 bail

Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Mensah Williams, the soldier captured in a viral video assaulting a pharmacy attendant and a female customer at Burma Camp, has been granted GH¢70,000 bail with two sureties by an Accra Circuit Court.

The incident happened on October 29, 2025, at e-Pride Pharmacy. According to reports, WO1 Williams became enraged after being told the medicines he bought were non-refundable. He had demanded a refund of about GH¢65 for medication he sent his son to purchase.

CCTV footage circulated across social media and news platforms showed him attacking the male attendant and then physically assaulting a female customer who attempted to film the confrontation.

The Ghana Armed Forces arrested WO1 Williams on October 30 and handed him over to the Cantonments Police Station to assist with investigations and prosecution.
